Our weekend ministry for kids.  KidZone is an exciting way for kids to learn about God and his life-changing Word.

We use various methods to communicate God's message in a fun and safe environment.

What Does a Sunday Morning Look Like?
Plug In:

Each child will be connected with an adult leader and students their same age and gender to participate in a fun activity which introduces the bottom line (big idea) for the morning.

Power Up:

We explore what God's Word has to say about our bottom line in a fun and creative way that often incorporates video, drama, and worship.

Catch On:

This is our small group time when kids are connected with the same adult leader each week to further explore the bottom line through fun activities, discussion, and reflection time.

Each activity is application oriented with the goal for bottom line to "catch on" and be lived out.

This month in kidZone...

IMAGINE THAT! (Creativity)

In October, as many families are enjoying ArtPrize here locally, we have the opportunity to celebrate creativity in kidZone as well.  This month we are focusing on the virtue of creativity - using your imagination to do something unique.  The virtue for each month is based off a characteristic of God.  We serve a creative God.  All we have to do is look around at His creation to realize how infinitely creative God is.  As His image-bearers we all reflect His creativity.  That creativity can be expressed in a number of ways and looks different for each individual.  We will be encouraging the kids each week to discover how God has uniquely blessed them and how they can use that to glorify Him.

Our memory verse for the month is from Ephesians 2:10, "For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do."  This verse reminds us of God's creativity in creating and molding each of us in unique ways, but also reminds us of the unique task that God has for each believer.

As we discover more about creativity this month, there are a number of Bible stories we will look at each week that teach us an important truth about God, ourselves, and what God's plan for us is:

Week 1:
Bible Story:  Just His Imagination (Creation story) - Genesis 1:1-2:1
Bottom Line:  You were created, so you can be creative.

Week 2:
Bible Story:  A Tisket, A Tasket... (Moses and Miriam) - Exodus 1:22-2:10
Bottom Line:  Use your imagination to think big.

Week 3:
Bible Story:  More Than Words (David's final words) - 2 Samuel 23:1-2
Bottom Line:  Use your imagination to make your mark.

Week 4:
Bible Story:  This Little Light of MIne (Sermon on the Mount, salt and light) - Matthew 5:14-16
Bottom Line:  Use your imagination to do more good.

I'm excited to partner with you this month as we teach this important virtue.  Look for some fun ways this month to encourage, enjoy, and discuss creativity with your child.  Take a nature walk and discuss God's creativity.  Check out ArtPrize and discuss human creativity and how both Christians and non-Christians can glorify God through creativity.  Work on a project together.  Share your stories or ideas on our facebook page.  It's fun hearing examples of kids who are living out the things we learn on Sunday.

Above all, enjoy!
Dan

Hand2Hand Service Project

Chapel Pointe is partnering with Hand2Hand Ministries to help meet the needs of hungry children in Georgetown Township.  In kidZone we are encouraging the kids to get involved as well.  Food or money donations can be brought to kidZone on Sunday mornings from September 25-October 9.  Our goal is for each small group to fill at least 1 backpack.  For a list of items needed please see the attached flyer.

Parents

We are here to support your entire family.  Below you will find a variety of resources to help us better partner together in raising the upcoming generation of Christ followers.  You can also "like" our kidZone page to stay up-to-date with what is happening each week in kidZone!

Check out our Family Resources page for suggested websites, books, and upcoming equipping opportunities.  We believe they can provide quality information and encouragement for you as parents.

Interested in knowing what your kids are learning?  Click on the Parent Cue for each week to learn the virtue, bottom line, memory verse, and Bible passage that we talked about.  There are also some helpful discussion questions for your family to use.

Also, be sure to check out the GodTime cards.  You can print them off each week for your kids to use as a devotional tool.  They allow your kids to continue learning what was taught on Sunday and provide practical application.

For more information on the curriculum we use you can check out their website - www.252basics.com or their parent page at www.orangeparents.org

FAQ's

Who can attend kidZone?  All kids from age 2 yrs-5th grade.  We offer programs called totZone (2 yrs) and preZone (3-4 yrs) for our younger children, and eZone (K-5th) for our elementary students.  All programs are offered during both services (9:00 & 10:45).

How do I register my child?  When you arrive at Chapel Pointe, head to kidZone Central to fill out a registration card.  Once you have filled out a card, simply stop by our table each week to check in.

What time is kidZone?  Children's programs run the entire length of each service in which they are offered.  First service runs from 9-10:15 and second service from 10:45-12.  Children can be dropped off at their classes up to 15 minutes before the start of the worship service and need to be picked up within 15 minutes of dismissal to allow for a smooth transition between services.

What about child pick-up?  When you register before the service, you will be given a parent card with your child's name and information.  You will need to present this card in order to "claim" your child.  We enforce this policy only out of our absolute concern for your child's safety.  Thank you for your cooperation in this way.

How can I get involved in kidZone?  If you're interested in helping out with our Sunday morning Children's Ministries, we would love to guide you to the spot that best fits your passions and gifts.  Thanks for your willingness to serve!

What if I have other questions?  Feel free to stop in at the Chapel Pointe and/or kidZone Welcome Desks, or ask anyone wearing a kidZone staff nametag.  Also, you can contact Kevin Matthews (Community Life Pastor) at 662-8801 ext. 203, or kmatthews@chapel-pointe.org.
