Man was created in the image of God as male and female by direct act, not by an evolutionary process. Mankind are stewards of God’s creation, servants and worshipers under the rule of their Creator. God created them with a physical body, soul, and spirit, and designed marriage as a covenant relationship between a man and a woman. All mankind has value and worth to God and should be protected from conception through natural death. (Genesis 1:26-28; 2:7-25; Psalms 8; Psalms 139; Hebrews 13:4)
