The Church is the spiritual body and bride of Christ that began on the day of Pentecost, made up of regenerate Jews and Gentiles formed into a temple indwelled by the Spirit and established on the foundation of Christ and the Word. The ministry of the local church is to glorify God in worship, edify believers in teaching and fellowship, and share the gospel with the world. The ordinances of the local church are baptism and the Lord’s table. Membership is made up of disciples who are saved and baptized, and its officers are pastors (elders, bishops) and deacons. (Matthew 16:13-18; 28:18-20; Acts 2:40-47; Ephesians 2:11-22; 4:1-16; 5:22-33; 1 Timothy 3:1-16; Philippians 1:1).
