Pray for Our Missionary Partners

Come back each month for updated prayers and praises from our missions partners!

Nancy Berends | Serving primarily in Togo, West Africa, based in West Michigan

Praises

  • In June, I learned that my trusted department coordinator was leaving her role. God has provided another skilled person to step in. I’m so thankful!
  • God has brought another physician who can volunteer some hours to help us process our missionary health clearance documents. It’s been a huge need, and I’m thankful.
  • Another full-time nurse has onboarded with ABWE Healthcare. She will work with short-term teams, mobilizing a new generation of healthcare missionaries and help with missionary healthcare. Another huge praise!

Prayers

  • Our ABWE Medical Director is retiring this month. I need God to bring us another physician (or a couple of part-time physicians) who can help us from the USA.
  • I will need to have one of my cochlear implants replaced. Scheduling it is something I need to figure out because I’ll have to be down for a number of weeks. Pray for wisdom with this.
  • My travel schedule picks up by the end of August. Please pray for safety and for fruit with the various trips and ministries.

The Caudill Family | Director of Live Global, based in Pennsylvania

Updated July 2026

Praises

  • Praise God for a successful Missionary Kid Retreat last month! We loved building into 20 teen missionary kids from around the world for a week, helping them process and prepare for transition as they will soon re-enter their passport country for college or post-high school jobs, etc. What a full house and full hearts kind of week! God answered so many prayers for logistics, weather, health, safety, spiritual conversations, and more.
  • Praise God for the 10 individuals joining Live Global this month.

Prayer Requests

  • Pray we can be helpful to the 10 individuals joining Live Global this month as they attend orientation. Pray for God to lead and direct them as they begin the fundraising process.

  • Please pray for wisdom for Andrew and me as we plan what our next international trip or two will look like. Also pray for wisdom for Andrew as he leads Live Global as part of ABWE.

Saeed and Saida | Northern Caucasus of Central Asia

Updated September 2026

Praises

  • I thank the Lord for the opportunity to share the Gospel with new people. Some of them responded very positively. One of them said he wanted to talk to me about it again.

  • I thank the Lord that an unbeliever came up to me and said he wanted to be like me. He wants to be just as respectful of people as I am. I told him that Jesus made me this way. It was very heartwarming to hear those words and to share the Gospel with him.

  • I thank the Lord that, by His grace, we can help people with medical needs. A great many people turn to us, and we help them. Some also ask us to pray for their needs.

Prayer Requests

  • Please pray for the people we’re sharing the Gospel with, that they may become disciples of Jesus Christ.

  • Please pray for our family, that the Lord will help us find a larger home so we can have adequate space for our family and for our house church. We also often have guests visiting us for various reasons.

  • Please also pray for the translation of the New Testament and for the workshop that begins on September 17 and lasts for 12 days. With God’s help, the next workshop will be held in early March 2027.

The Sanford Family | Serving in Papua New Guinea

Updated September 2026

Praises

  • We arrived at a fairly full center of missionaries. Just a week prior, it was pretty empty. It is a blessing to have others to do life alongside.

  • We are back into homeschooling. It’s a significant part of our lives here in PNG. Thankfully, we’ve been able to start off on a good foot. Kati and the kids are doing well jumping back into the swing of things.

  • A family is interested in joining our team! It’s been a long year of prayer and not knowing how God is going to move for our family to progress in our ministry. Along with that family there are a couple other new church planters on the way to PNG opening up some potential roads forward. We are encouraged to have opportunities to look into to complete our team.

Prayer Requests

  • As mentioned, we recently had a family reach out to us interested in joining our church planting team! Please pray for clear leading as we meet this family and consider teaming up. They are based in a different part of the country, so working through team formation has some complications.

  • I (Ricky) am taking on an admin role until our team is complete. I’ll be helping our church development team coordinate our varying consultants to address the needs of our church plants across PNG. It’s a great opportunity to help while also gaining wisdom on what difficulties our church planters face before entering our own church plant. Pray that I transition into the role well and am an effective help to our church planting teams.

  • Pray for our Center as we are in a busy season. We’re preparing for our regional conference where all our church planters come together for a few days. It’s a time where their kids receive their standardized testing, we have times of worship and encouragement, and it’s overall time of building up the Body of Christ as most of the time many are in isolated locations.
